Tony n Tina’s Wedding
AFTER two months of sell-out shows, the Broadway hit, Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding continues its theatrical success in a voltaic move to London’s West End.
The unique dinner comedy show has been seen around the world since its start in the 1980s — from Las Vegas to Hawaii, on cruise ships, and most recently at the top of the ArcelorMiMal Orbit – Britain’s
largest piece of public art at the Queen Elizabeth II Olympic Park.
Having entertained millions, the Italian American comedy will open on Saturday, July 15th at the Wonderville theatre in the Haymarket, 2 minutes from Piccadilly Circus – an exciting new destination hosting the best of London’s cabaret, comedy, music, and magic.
Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding takes the format of an Italian American wedding where audience members become guests of the wedding itself whilst following the star-eyed lovebirds Tony Nunzio and Tina Vitale on their
rumbustous wedding day.
Over the last few months, the show has garnered numerous glowing reviews;
Anna James at The Stage wrote:
“Bizarre yet charming fever dream of a show with a talented cast.”
Ed Gleave at The Daily Star described it as an: “Immersive theatre show Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding is hands down the most surreal thing I’ve ever been to. It starts with a ceremony where you’re among
the guests as a couple gets hitched. And then you join them for the reception…A three-course meal of laughs, entertainment, and a rack of quirky characters all around ensure you’re fully immersed in
the occasion. It’s easy to forget it’s a show because it’s all so believable.”
The show’s producer Paul Gregg is the entertainment impresario credited with reviving the fortunes of the Lyceum Theatre, The Apollo Victoria, and The Dominion Theatre in the 1980s when many theatres went dark as well as the record-breaking revival of The Sound of Music and bringing The Lion King to London (which still runs to this day).
Paul said:
“We’re delighted to be moving the truly fantastic Tony n’ Tina’s Wedding to the West End and to the Wonderville theatre, a magical venue ready-made for our unique show.
This move is a great endorsement for a show with a long pedigree and is a wonderful new chapter in its 35-year history.”
Ronnie Burden and Alabama Boatman star as the sometimes-happy couple, alongside a talented ensemble of stereotypical Italian American weddinggoers, with Larry Pellegrini, who directed and wrote the original Broadway version.
Tickets are priced at £95 plus the booking fee and include the show, a three-course dinner, and a complimentary glass of bubbly!
