Sausage Rolls or Feuilleté de Porc… Brand snobbery or brand perception?
So much in life is about perceptions. No more so than in the world of PR and branding. We all naturally base presumptions on what we hear either directly from a brand or increasingly via influencers and peers.
When a brand is associated with one audience but then wants to adjust its trajectory and attract a completely different audience – it is assumed that making the brand shift in terms of perceptions will be an uphill struggle. However, that hill may not be as much as a sharp incline as it first appears.
A great recent PR stunt for high street snacks and bakers Greggs shows how, given the fact that a brand’s core product is already first-rate, just a simple change of branding, including presentation and positioning of the company’s ethos, can radically change perceptions about the brand’s core demographics.
At KBAPR, we specialise in altering perceptions through events, digital, PR and of course strategic brand assignments.
