KBA visit the Wickers Charity in Hackney
June 15, 2018 by Iona Kay
The KBA team were fortunate enough to visit our friends from the Wickers charity, affiliated with Hackney Wick FC, at St Mary of Eton church to see some of their fantastic work in action. Their ethos? To reduce gang crime in the borough by uniting children through football and other activities nurtured by Bobby Kasanga, an ex-gang member who has turned his life around and dedicated himself to his community.
It was truly heart-warming to witness. Bobby told us of his desire to build friendships across the community from young ages and exercise their skills, from cooking to engineering, which prevents future rivalries and gives the children the facilities to develop their talents and build strong, lifelong friendships.
The bright and bustling atmosphere we saw was proof of Kasanga’s fantastic work! We are very excited to continue working with them! Learn more of their success story here http://www.hackneywickfc.
