FlipOut – TOP ADVENTURE PARK COMING TO POOLE?
Flip Out, the UK’s leading adventure park franchise, could be coming to Poole.
A planning application has been submitted to the council for a £2.5 million superstore stretching over 40,000 sq. ft. on the former Marks and Spencer site in the Dolphin Shopping Centre.
Next to Flip Out will be Putt Putt Noodle, a brand-new crazy golf experience, with three unique Asian themed 9-hole courses.
If permission is granted the centre will bring around 60 part time and 20 full time jobs to the area and could be open by Christmas.
The adventure park will be packed with amazing features including bumper cars, a synthetic glow in the dark ice rink, laser quest, interactive football, a soft play area and an obstacle course and a cannon blast area.
The huge venue will also include a video arcade and an area for parents and guardians to relax and put their feet up with refreshments and snacks from the cafe.
In Putt Putt Noodle, which is spread over 10,000 feet and as well as playing three unique golf courses, customers will be able to treat themselves to street food style noodle dishes and a variety of delicious alcoholic and non-alcoholic cocktails.
Richard Beese, the co-founder of Flip Out and Putt Putt Noodle, said: “We’re super excited about the prospect of coming to Poole.
“We are creating a new world of fantasy and planning to bring the latest entertainment package to the town, packed with a whole range of goodies to suit all the family.
“If we get the go-ahead we would be aiming to be open just before Christmas so guests can let their hair down and blow off some steam.
“The twin centre is jam-packed with unique activities so there will be something for everyone, I hope.
“It’s been a tough last two years for the country but now we are all ready to let our hair down and have some fun.”
Planners are expected to give their decision on the application in April.
If accepted the new centre will be over 2 floors and open seven days a week. There are plans to run classic Flip Out sessions including fully hosted birthday parties, late-night ‘after dark’ discos, toddler soft play activities, and group sleepovers. In addition, disability sessions will be organised where carers will be allowed in for free. At Putt Putt Noodle, the attraction will specifically cater for over 18’s only after 7pm for those that want to relax with a drink, eat and experience a cool vibe.
A 3-hour session at Flip Out will cost around £20 and the park will offer discounted family pass tickets. Visitors wanting to try out the golf on the Great Wall of China, the Cambodian Jungle or the Cherry Blossom Spa courses will pay around £9 per nine holes,
The Flip Out brand has been growing rapidly over the last two years and now has 27 sites in the UK with many more planned.
Putt Putt Noodle is a new concept in entertainment which was launched in Norwich last year and there are now plans to expand all over the UK.
Marks and Spencer closed its doors in January and the site has been dormant since.
The Dolphin Square shopping Centre is the county’s largest indoor shopping centre.
If planning permission is granted, Flip Out is expected to have over 500,000 visitors per year to the store.
Greg Westover, Fund Head of Retail and Leisure at Legal & General Investment Management, said: “Following the departure of M&S from the Dolphin Centre, Legal & General is delighted to be working with Flip Out as they submit a planning application to take over the unit.
“To be able to provide an experience-based offering like this in the midst of all our other retailers is extremely positive and we hope everyone is just as thrilled as we are.
“The granting of planning will be fantastic for the Dolphin, bringing something fresh and exciting to Poole town centre.
Bringing this unique offering to the centre is another huge step towards us future proofing and expanding our retail experience, providing choice, and more than just shopping opportunities for our local community.”
